A Word On Membership
Members of a church are like citizens of a country. Every church needs members, individuals who feel a sense of ownership, a sense of responsibility. If you believe society needs a church that values all individuals and their differences; that teaches our children religion, not a religion; that cherishes freedom and encourages dialogue and supplies a safe space to hold that dialogue on questions of faith; that acts locally and thinks globally on the great issues of our time, then support those beliefs by becoming a member of All Peoples.
How Do I Become a Member of the Church?
We like someone to visit for a month or two before they consider joining the church. We think it takes that long before someone can know us well enough to make an informed choice. When someone has visited for that length of time or longer and wants to join, we arrange for them to sit down with the minister or another church leader in order to learn what the church expects of members. Another important function of that meeting is for the church leader to learn about the new member’s interests, talents, and enthusiasms so that we can help them get connected with groups or individuals within the church who have similar interests. The process takes 30 to 60 minutes. You may call the Membership Manager, Karl Thibodeaux, (817) 451-1505 or the minister, Lori King-Nelson to set up a meeting.
