We Help Our Community
We try our best to give back to our community by assisting local charities. If you would like to help, please consider donating to these worthy causes.
Eastside Community Assistance (Eastside Ministries)
In September 1985 a group of ministers and lay people met to discuss how to better serve needy families on Fort Worth’s east side. They be¬lieved that by uniting, their individual efforts could be multiplied. Now a board of directors oversees the ministry. They represent area Assembly of God, Baptist, Catholic, Disciples of Christ, Episcopalian, Lutheran, Methodist, and Unitarian Universalist churches.
Eastside Ministries is a non-profit organization that serves the needy living in the community around First Jefferson. Eastside Ministries relies on gifts and participation from member churches, including First Jefferson— one of the churches who founded the organization in 1985. Despite its small budget, hundreds of households in need each month are supplied with food, diapers, clothing, prescription help, transportation, and other types of support. We invite you to continue living our principles by helping this organization help our community. For more information on ESM, including a video that shows the facility and beautifully explains what it accomplishes and why, please visit www.eastsideministriestx.org.
Don’t Forget To Feed Me
The mission of Don’t Forget to Feed Me (DF2FM) is to supply pet food to local agencies in support of pet owners while educating the public about pet food insecurity. By providing pet food for those in need during challenging financial times and increasing awareness, we offer an alternative to surrendering —or worse, abandoning—a family pet. Don’t Forget to Feed Me helps to ensure that no pet owner must choose between stay…or go.
We Share the Plate
Every Sunday some of the money that we collect during service goes to a non-profit with whose values we share.
